Macadamia Nut Market Update March 2022 Week 9
Over the past few weeks, there has not been any change in the Macadamia nuts market. As the new crop comes into the market, we'll update you regarding any price changes.
For now, we'll give you a brief overview of the production numbers from around the world.
Updates from Kenya
Being one of the largest exporters of Macadamia nuts globally, it is estimated that we will be able to see Kenya bringing in 60,000 tons into the market.
Updates from Australia
The weather has not been kind to the Macadamia industry in Australia. They have revised their production numbers, which are down 10% in general and 25% in New South Wales. Concerns that this will affect the price.
Updates from South Africa
There is a growing sense that South Africa will be able to output in excess of last year's production up to 8%.
In general, the Ukraine crisis and the pandemic have affected the European Union Market, which is the primary consumer not only for Macadamia nuts but also for all nuts. Until this crisis subsides, it will be very difficult to understand which way the market is going to turn.
