Apricots Market Update - April 2022, Week 14
This year exports have seen a 1.5% decrease, while the average price has been 34% higher during the same period.
The Turkish lira is at the moment stable at 14.7 to the US dollar, and the bloom is underway in most regions of Malatya. The weather forecast looks satisfactory as well. It is important to note that the bloom is in effect 2-3 weeks later than usual, which may eventually delay the harvest.
Furthermore, due to the lack of carryover from the previous season, there will be a strong surge in demand for early shipments again, and the SO2 on the freight will be high.
