Dried Fig Market Update April 2022 Week 17

We've got it on authority that most dried fig farmers in Turkey are in great spirits when it comes to this year's crops. But their enthusiasm cannot be taken literally, at least not until the frost damage has been assessed.

It is worth noting that the Turkish dried fig market is quiet. While the trees have started to bud slowly due to the weather conditions, it is expected that the next week will be critical to assessing any frost-related damages if they are concurred.

As of now, growers expect a good yield this year. Rainfall will provide sufficient moisture. If the heat and drought seen last year do not occur this season, we can expect the proportion of high-yield figs to be higher, as well as a higher yield. We will let you know as the situation progresses.
