Pumpkin Seed Market Update January 2022 Week 1

The New Year brings a lack of demand for pumpkin seed which is definitely putting a strain on the Chinese market in particular since traders heavily rely on sales throughout the year. It is worth noting that there are price corrections, and the effect everyone was hoping for has failed to take place.

Farmgate prices have stabilised to the point of CNY 18-18.5/kg. This indicated that there are sufficient goods in the market, particularly in the case of shine skin market.

However, do note that the overall high farmgate and export prices have reduced the buying interest in both domestic and international markets. Traders are, therefore, dissatisfied and have slowly started to reluctantly lower prices.

With the Chinese new year's coming, some factories sell inventories for their bank loans. So, it is expected that good price offers will pop up occasionally.
