Pumpkin Seeds Market Update March 2022 Week 12

Farmgate prices have continued to see a decline. The current price is 16.5 CNY/kg. This is primarily due to a large number of shine skins present in the market. While speculators are trying to push the price up, they have found no success. 

It was previously expected that the new season would have high carry over stocks, but the confidence was that the market would be able to clear stock before the new crop gets planted. 

As of now, it looks as if that has not been the case. Traders are constantly trying to raise prices and circulate the carryover. Still, with gaps in demand, the situation is looking bleak for traders. 

In other news, there have been reports that Chinese suppliers have seen a significant drop in freight rates. There is speculation that this may continue, which would lead to a direct impact on prices and how the market behaves in the near future.
