Sunflower Seeds Market Update November 2021
It’s been a good week for the sunflower seeds industry as crop purchases have ended in all regions. The availability of premium quality sunflower seeds has reduced by over 30% since the last crop. Most of it was purchased at very high prices in the domestic market in China, making export prices increase by almost 15%.
The available quantity of the crop is sufficient. Market trends indicate an export demand for larger seeds, so there will be a shortage of that in a bit. Prices aren’t expected to drop since dealers are holding almost all raw materials.
Sunflower Seed Kernels
From the sunflower seed kernel side of things, the market price actually hit a record high this year due to the shortage of raw materials and the high demand. Factories have not yet purchased any raw material for confectionary sunflower kernels as it was this time last year. But this is probably due to increased demand for domestic sunflower oil, pushing the prices high. It is these factors that make it harder for sunflower kernel prices to drop this year.
