Walnuts Market Update June 2022 Week 26

Walnut exporters in the United States recorded a significantly better result for exports in May 2022 compared to the same month last year. Export volumes have been reported to increase by 60% at 19,185 MT. However, domestic shipments have declined by 10%. A total number of 26,238 MT of walnuts, both shelled and unshelled, have been shipped during the month of May. This is largely due to higher shipments to Germany this year, with monthly shipments at 4,218 mt, approximately 131% more than last year.

Since the new season began, the United States has shipped 289,847 mt of in-shell and shelled walnuts. Domestic shipments have been at a decline, down 9%since last year. Only shipments to Europe have increased.
